09/24/2020 The Compliance Division of the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) will present a training on the Multifamily Direct Loan (MFDL) Program on September 24, 2020, starting at 9 a.m., Austin local time, and expecting to last approximately six (6) hours. The MFDL training provides a solid foundation that covers such topics as utility allowances, student eligibility, recertifications, adjusted income, and more on the following programs: - HOME Investment Partnership (HOME)- Tax Credit Assistance Repayment Funds (TCAP RF)- National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF)- Neighborhood Stabilization (NSP) There is no cost for the training, however, registration is required. The Council seeks to improve interagency understanding and increase the number of staff in state housing and health services agencies that are conversant in both housing and services. This will be a meeting of the Council's Policy and Planning Subcommittee. 10/06/2020 The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) and the Texas Apartment Association (TAA) are presenting an Income Determination Training online event. The program focuses on eligibility requirements of TDHCA's various affordable housing programs. All affordable housing property owners and managers and all MFDL program contract administrators are invited to register. The course is taught by the compliance staff at TDHCA and covers topics such as income, assets, student status, documenting household income and more. You must register with TAA. Access instructions and seminar materials will be emailed to each registrant no later than the day before the online seminar. The program is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Austin local time, and will include time for breaks and lunch just as if you were at an in-person seminar. 11/02/2020 The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) announces the opening of a 15-day public comment period for the State of Texas Draft 2020 Consolidated Plan Annual Performance Report - Reporting on Program Year 2019 (CAPER or Report) as required by HUD. The Report is required as part of the overall requirements governing the State's consolidated planning process. The CAPER is submitted in compliance with 24 CFR §91.520, Consolidated Plan Submissions for Community Planning and Development Programs. The 15-day public comment period begins Monday, November 2, 2020 and continues until 5:00 pm Austin Local Time on Monday, November 16, 2020. The Report gives the public an opportunity to evaluate the performance of the past program year for five HUD programs: the Community Development Block Grant Program administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture, the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program administered by the Texas Department of State Health Services, and the Emergency Solutions Grants, HOME Investment Partnerships, and National Housing Trust Fund programs, administered by TDHCA.
